Project 2025 is on the ballot in Colorado with divisive measures that use fear tactics and confusion to push an extreme, anti-freedom agenda.
Coloradans for Smart Justice is dedicated to creating safer communities. And that’s why we oppose Prop 128 and Prop 130. Because the evidence is abundant and clear: Longer prison sentences and more police don’t make us safer.
Mandatory Minimum Parole Eligibility
If passed, this misguided measure would undermine Colorado's current parole system. Proposition 128 would unjustly punish those who have worked hard to rehabilitate themselves while incarcerated and have proven they are ready to return home.
VOTE NO ON 128
Funding for More Police
If passed, this measure would divert $350 million from the state general fund exclusively to fund traditional law enforcement officers only. Colorado already allocates more funding to law enforcement per capita than 75% of states in the U.S.
VOTE NO ON 130
If passed, Propositions 128 and 130 would have catastrophic consequences for Colorado's state budget while diverting resources away from real community safety.
These measures will undo much of the legislature’s bipartisan work to safely reduce both the prison population and recidivism while focusing on rehabilitation and re-entry.
Colorado’s limited budget should be used more efficiently, with investments in prevention, rehabilitation, and community services that yield better outcomes and reduce future costs.
We are Coloradans
for Smart Justice.
